We were so blessed to have Dr. Vernard Gant and his wife Cynthia with us this February. The Gants have been integral, particularly in the early stages, in the development of more than two dozen urban-focused schools across the country.  As the Director of the Urban School Services Division of the ACSI, Dr. Gant is particularly excited about the vision of Downtown Academy, noting the need for such a school in Athens and throughout the nation.

We were deeply encouraged by his and his wife’s shared wisdom, and their enthusiasm for the Downtown Academy. Play the video above and hear the powerful message Dr. Gant shared with us at our first annual Legacy of Hope Dinner at which nearly $60,000 in scholarships was raised.
