Bus Driver/Custodian
The bus driver/custodian…
is a full-time, salaried position with a 10 month work schedule. The person in this position provides direct support to students through maintaining a regular bus route and provides direct support to the school facility by maintaining a clean and healthy learning environment for students and faculty.
The successful candidate will:
hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
maintain a high level of energy and flexibility.
communicate clearly and warmly with children, parents, volunteers and staff.
take initiative and work with integrity to maintain a clean and healthy school facility
Key areas of responsibility:
Bus Driver:
Safely transport students to and from school, field trips, and other school-related activities.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus.
Maintain a safe, orderly environment on the bus, enforcing school rules and behavioral expectations.
Report any maintenance issues or incidents promptly.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
Custodian:
Perform daily cleaning and maintenance tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing classrooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas.
Ensure all school facilities are clean, safe, and in good repair.
Restock supplies as needed and ensure proper storage of cleaning materials.
Assist with the set up and take down of furniture and equipment for school events.
Assist with minor maintenance and repair tasks as needed.
Follow safety protocols and report any hazards or security concerns.
